Samantha Dorais punches boyfriend in face at Moxy Nashville Downtown

24-year-old Samantha Dorais was involved in a domestic altercation with her boyfriend and father of her child, Sean Hogan, at the Moxy Nashville Downtown hotel near 3rd Avenue South on July 3rd. When officers arrived on the scene, they contacted the couple inside the room who were visiting from Massachusetts. Officers first spoke with Hogan, who told officers that they were downtown drinking when Dorais started yelling loudly and freaking out. Hogan stated they both were verbally arguing as well. Hogan then informed officers that when they returned to their room, Dorais became even more aggressive and started yelling louder. Since Hogan did not want the incident to escalate, he called 911 for assistance. Hogan then claimed that Dorais had punched him on the right side of his face while he was on the phone with dispatch. Officers observed the swelling and redness to the right side of his ear. Officers then spoke with Dorais, who claimed that nothing ever became physical and that they were just arguing verbally. Due to Hogans’s injuries and the statements made, Dorais was taken into custody for domestic assault.

BUI: Jeyson Flores swaps seat with passenger when pulled over on Percy Priest Lake

30-year-old Jeyson Flores was seen driving a boat without registration at Percy Priest Lake on July 4th. Officers observed him actively drinking from a silver can, which they reported looked like an alcoholic beverage. When officers activated their emergency lights, Flores was seen swapping seats with the passenger beside him. Once officers made contact with Flores, they observed the odor of alcohol coming from his person and other signs of intoxication. Flores was asked to perform sobriety tests, he consented and performed them poorly. Flores was taken into custody for boating under the influence.

William King runs away from officers after passing out on Demonbreun Street

22-year-old William King was seen passed out on the sidewalk at the intersection of 8th Avenue South and Demonbreun Street on July 5th. Officers were flagged down by medics assisting King. Medics told officers that when they went to check on King, he handed them his wallet, said, “Just hold it for me,” and then took off running. Officers observed King running through a parking lot. When officers attempted to approach King, he continued to run away from them. After a short chase, King was detained to ensure he was okay. While interacting with King, officers observed the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and signs of intoxication. It was deemed that King was a danger to himself, so he was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Steven Nelson recklessly shoots gun during altercation outside 7-Eleven

39-year-old Steven Nelson was seen recklessly shooting his firearm after an altercation outside 7-Eleven on Brick Church Pike Road on July 4th. When the officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with Nelson, a security guard for the 7-Eleven. Nelson stated that he was arguing with a gentleman when it became physical. Nelson then told officers he was in the business when a gentleman walked in, causing a disturbance. Nelson stated the gentleman began arguing with staff, and he stepped in to remove the gentleman from the property. Nelson and the man got into a shoving match and went outside. The two began arguing more until the gentleman struck Nelson in the face. Officers then observed a mark on Nelson’s face where he said he was hit. Nelson informed officers that this was when the man began threatening him, telling Nelson that he was going to kill him. Nelson then stated that he then drew his firearm as he was in fear for his life and shot one round into the ground of the business parking lot. Nelson then proceeded to holster his weapon and pepper spray the man. Officers located the shell casing that matched Nelson’s firearm and also noticed that his gun was missing one round of ammunition as well.

Officers were able to watch video footage of the incident that corroborated what Nelson said up until the assault. The video shows Nelson getting struck and then chasing the man until they ended up where officers found them when they arrived. The footage determined that Nelson’s story did not align with what happened. With the admission of Nelson firing the weapon and the video footage, officers deemed Nelson to be the aggressor. Nelson was taken into custody for reckless endangerment on July 5th.

Eric McNutt scams people by impersonating parking lot attendant on 4th of July

58-year-old Eric McNutt was caught impersonating a parking attendant at an empty parking lot on President Ronald Reagan Way South on July 4th. When officers arrived, they observed McNutt wearing a hi-visibility yellow vest, waving vehicles into the parking lot to park. Officers spoke with a witness who stated that McNutt waved him in and asked him for $10 to park at that location. Officers had previously talked to Downtown Partnership about McNutt conducting the same business on May 28th. On that occasion, officers could not find McNutt but observed pictures of him in the same parking lot dressed in the same yellow vest. When officers spoke to McNutt, he denied ever asking people for money and stated that he used to work for Downtown Partnership. McNutt told officers that he simply asked people to park there and suggested they could give him a tip. McNutt was taken into custody for criminal impersonation.

Jevaughn Green beats husband in head with 5 pound golden elephant statue

22-year-old Jevaughn Green was involved in a domestic altercation with his husband, Threishaun Wade-Burnett, at a Cottage View Lane residence on July 3rd. Ameeka Burnett, a witness, notified officers that Green and her son were in an altercation at the residence, which was heard by dispatch in the background. When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed Threishaun bleeding from the right side of his head before speaking with him. Threishaun told officers he was at the location to collect his belongings because he and Green were ending their relationship. Officers noticed Ameeka loading moving boxes and other items into a vehicle before speaking with her. Ameeka claimed she was at the residence and saw Green provoking a conflict with instigative comments. Ameeka also stated that she noticed Green put his phone to his ear and purposely bumped into Threishaun, telling him, “Don’t hit me.” Ameeka claimed she had foreseen something terrible would happen, so she contacted officers for help.

Ameeka informed the officers that Green then attacked Threishaun by pushing and hitting him with his hands before grabbing a heavy object and striking him with it. Officers then asked Threishaun what had happened. Threishaun stated he saw Green grab a golden metal decorative elephant that weighed 3 to 5 pounds and begin swinging it at his head. Threishaun, however, attempted to stay away from the elephant but stated that he was struck at least once in the head during the assault. Threishaun then grabbed Green and wrestled him onto the couch to hold him down in self-defense. The two were separated by neighbors and family before the officers’ arrival. Officers noticed redness and swelling on numerous parts of Threishaun’s body. Officers then saw the abrasions and lacerations to Threishaun’s forehead and elbow. Ameeka told officers that she observed Threishaun bleeding from the head and Green holding the golden elephant in his hands. Threishaun and Ameeka identified the elephant the officers, which was sitting out of place on the kitchen counter, as the weapon that was used during the assault. Due to the witness observations and Threishaun’s injuries, Green was subsequently taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Julietta Escudero caught with fake TN Asbestos Accreditation ID card, jailed 11 years later

57-year-old Julietta Escudero was caught with a fake Tennessee Asbestos Accreditation Identification Card on March 21st, 2013. Special agents at the EPA Office of Inspector General were alerted that Escudero at the Dupont on Industrial Drive had fraudulently passed an Asbestos Accreditation ID card. On March 28th, 2013, special agents interviewed Escudero at the Dupont facility. Escudero admitted that the ID was fraudulent and that she had never attended an Asbestos Abatement Worker certification training class. Escudero stated that she bought the certification from an individual named Roberto Gonzalez. She noted that she paid a man named “Noe” $100 to make her ID card. Escudero was later taken into custody for forgery eleven years later, on July 3rd, 2024.

Anthony White assaults girlfriend, punches hole in her bedroom door during altercation

32-year-old Anthony White was involved in a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Eboni Eriamiatoe, at a Creekwood Drive apartment residence on April 1st. When officers arrived, they spoke with Eriamiatoe, who stated that she believed White was abusing drugs again and was acting strange. Eriamiatoe stated that White attempted to enter the bathroom in her bedroom, and she instructed him to leave. Eriamiatoe claimed that as White was walking out of the bedroom, he punched a hole in her bedroom door before walking back into the bedroom towards the bathroom again. After this, the two began fighting, and at some point, Erimiatoe received a busted lip from the altercation. After the fight, White returned to the hallway, where they continued arguing before White took a chair and went outside the apartment. Eriamiatoe then proceeded to lock the door behind White as he walked out. When officers arrived, they noticed that White had already fled the scene before observing a broken chair outside the apartment door and a broken hole in the wall. Officers also observed Eriamiatoe’s injuries, but she refused medical attention. White was deemed the primary aggressor, and a warrant was issued that day. White was then found and taken into custody for domestic assault and vandalism on July 3rd.

Local Musician Jason Wall caught assaulting wife by delivery man

36-year-old Local Musician Jason Wall was involved in a domestic incident with his wife, Chelsea Wall, at a Lords Chapel Drive residence on May 22nd. When officers arrived, they were met by Mr. Rodney. Rodney told them that while delivering packages, he saw Jason on top of Chelsea, holding her down. Rodney stated that he told Jason to get off of her, and Jason listened to him but continued to talk to Chelsea. Rodney said he stayed by Chelsea because he was scared of her safety. When officers spoke to Chelsea, she informed them that she and Jason were separated because of his constant use of drugs and alcohol. Chelsea stated that she and Jason argued over his recent behavior. During their argument, Jason got into Chelsea’s face and aggressively grabbed her arms. This caused redness and bruising on her arms, which officers observed. The argument then made its way outside, which is where Jason pushed Chelsea down to the ground and mounted her. While Jason was on top of Chelsea, he repeatedly stated, ” I just want to work things out and see my son.” When officers initially spoke with Chelsea, she said she did not want to press charges. Instead, Chelsea stated she wanted to get Jason some help with his mental health. However, she has since changed her mind and wishes to prosecute Jason. Jason was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault on July 3rd.

Jeffrey Lebron Ownby sets clothes on fire while shoplifting at Walmart

62-year-old Jeffery Lebron Ownby was seen setting clothes on fire at the Walmart on Gallatin Pike North at 9:00 a.m. on July 3rd. Ownby was observed entering the store at 6:00 a.m. He took an electric cart and proceeded to go around the store and conceal merchandise inside it. Once he was done, Ownby attempted to leave Walmart but was stopped at the exit doors. When Ownby was stopped, he got upset and left the store without the cart to smoke a cigarette. Shortly after, Ownby returned back inside and began walking through the store. While walking, Ownby began damaging items with his crutches. Ownby then made his way to the men’s clothing section and started lighting clothes on fire with a lighter. While the clothes were on fire, the fire also caused damage to the flooring. Loss prevention employees detained Ownby until officers arrived. While detained, Ownby admitted to setting the clothing on fire. Ownby was taken into custody and charged with attempted theft and aggravated arson.
