30-year-old Demontraius Smelley was involved in a domestic disturbance with Kyra Baker at her Elliston Street residence on July 20th. Officers were dispatched to the residence on July 21st, and they made contact with Baker. Baker stated that she and Smelley got into an altercation the day before their arrival.
She went on to tell officers that Smelley put his hands around her neck and pushed her. According to Baker, Smelley did all this to get her wallet and then left after succeeding. Officers later spoke with neighbors who informed them that they heard screaming and yelling around the time of the altercation. Smelley was later found and taken into custody and charged with domestic assault on July 25th
Demontraius Smelley of Cecilia Avenue in Nashville, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on July 25th, charged with domestic assault. He is free on a $1,500 bond.
