19-year-old Brittany Elizabeth Buchanan had an altercation with her intimate partner, Cedric Malone, at his West Trinity Lane apartment around 1:04 a.m. on July 21st. When officers arrived, they spoke with Malone, who stated that he confronted Buchanan because he believed she had stolen $600 from his debit card on July 17th. This sparked an argument between the couple. As they argued, Buchanan had a knife in her hand, threatening Malone and causing him to fear for his life. Then, Malone told officers he tried to get his dog and leave. As he did this, Buchanan stated, “You’re not getting anything!” She then started hitting him in the head with a set of keys. Following this, Malone ran out of the apartment, and Buchanan stole his $5,000 gray Cane Corso named “Jewels.” When he returned, he alleged she had stolen his PlayStation 4 console and his dog. Buchanan was later taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and robbery on July 22nd.
