34-year-old Justin Dawson was involved in a domestic disturbance with his girlfriend, Destini Ursey, at the Kroger on Old Hickory Boulevard Hermitage on June 7th. When officers arrived, they were advised that Ursey and Dawson were no longer on the scene. A store employee told officers that while Ursey was buying cigarettes, Dawson appeared and started running toward her. Once Dawson approached Ursey, he attempted to grab her and her purse from behind. According to the store employee, Ursey didn’t know Dawson was at the store and was struggling to escape from him. The employee told officers that Ursey eventually escaped from Dawson and to the other side of the store.
On July 2nd, Detectives Beauchesne and McAlmont arrived at that same Kroger to see if Ursey was working. When they contacted Ursey, she stated that there had been an altercation between her and Dawson. Ursey noted that while she was buying cigarettes, Dawson grabbed her from behind and attempted to get his car keys. Justin Dawson was later found and taken into custody for domestic assault on July 26th.
Justin Lane Dawson of Dorman Drive in Columbia, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on July 26th, charged with domestic assault. He is free on a $1,000 bond.
