22-year-old Kedarian Morgan was involved in a domestic altercation with Caribbia Brunson, one of his intimate partners, at a Highland Trace Drive residence on June 29th. Officers received a call from Howard Mooneyham, who informed them he was a Lyft driver sent to the residence to pick someone up. Mooneyham stated that when he arrived, he saw a female crying and a male screaming at her. Mooneyham stated the man forced the woman back into the residence. Officers then received another call from a second person who stated that a man named Keith was holding his girlfriend hostage and that the caller had received a picture of her with blood on her face.

When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed both Morgan and Brunson with cuts on their bodies and fresh blood on their faces, legs, and feet. Both of them claimed that they were wrestling on the bed when they knocked over the lamp on the nightstand, which shattered some glass. Officers then spoke with Mooneyham over the phone, who claimed that Brunson came from the left side of the house and Morgan came from the other side and aggressively grabbed Brunson. Mooneyham claims that Brunson then began screaming, “Let me go!” before Morgan started calling her names and forced her back inside the residence. However, Mooneyham did not recall seeing Morgan hit Brunson outside. However, he is sure he had witnessed the aggressive grabbing and forceful dragging. When officers spoke with the second caller again, he said he had received a text message from Brunson’s friend saying she was in trouble. Officers observed a screenshot of the message to officers showing Brunson with a bloody face while crying. Morgan was then deemed a threat and a primary aggressor, so he was taken into custody for false imprisonment and domestic assault.
