41-year-old Michael McKeehan had a domestic altercation with his wife, Julia McKeehan, at their Sentral SoBro apartment unit at 3:25 a.m. on June 27th. When officers arrived, Mr. McKeehan met them outside the apartment building and asked if his wife called them. Then, without provocation, he stated, “I swear I never laid a hand on her.” After this, they went inside and spoke with Mrs. McKeehan, who said they were visiting Nashville from San Diego, California. Julia stated that when they returned to the room, he laid on top of her “aggressively” and refused to get off after she told him to repeatedly. Mrs. McKeehan added that she tried pushing him off, to which he responded by pushing her back, so she hit him. According to Mrs.McKeehan, Mr. McKeehan punched her in the face multiple times until she got him out of the room and locked the door. Following this, he forced the door open and started another scuffle, where she told him to leave or she would call the police, so he packed his backpack and left. Officers noticed the visible injuries she sustained from the attack, and she told them she did not want to press charges for the occurrence. Mr. McKeehan continued, stating he never hit her and did not know how she could be injured. Michael McKeehan was then taken into custody for domestic assault.
Michael I. McKeehan of 11th Ave in San Diego, CA, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on June 27th, charged with domestic assault with bodily injury. He is free on a $2,500 bond.
