34-year-old Sony Sitthara had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Sydney Clay, at their Hopedale Drive residence on June 29th. Clay told responding officers that she got home and noticed that Sitthara and their children were gone, so she rested and went to her room. Then, when they returned, Sitthara woke Clay up and told her they had gotten food. After this, Clay went to the kitchen, and Sitthara started arguing with her and insulting her until she returned to her room, locking the door. Sitthara followed and started banging on the door while shouting derogatory remarks at her, threatening to kick the door down. Clay shouted that she had started recording the incident, causing Sitthara to eventually stop. Clay added that she feared for her child’s safety and exited the room to grab them. Sitthara was holding their child as he rushed to the bedroom to grab Clay’s phone and delete the recordings once he saw her walking down the hall. Clay stated she followed him, during which Sitthara stopped at the doorway. Sitthara prevented her from entering and pushed her backward. Then, when Clay tried to maneuver under his arms, Sitthara shoved her in the chest with his forearm, causing her to fall onto her back into a closet. Afterward, Clay stated she called 911. Sitthara was later taken into custody for domestic assault on June 30th.
