22-year-old Austin Lucas caused a disturbance at the Old Hickory Boulevard Taco Bell on July 28th. John Davis, the manager at the location, told officers that Lucas entered the establishment to pick up an order and asked for a water cup. Then, Davis further explained that he asked Lucas if he was a paying customer, which angered him. After this, Davis started video recording the incident, which caused Lucas to become more agitated. Lucas can be heard on the video saying, “Put that phone in my face again and watch how quick this Glock come out homie!” At that moment, Lucas can be seen grabbing a Glock handgun tucked in the right side of his waistband. Davis can also be heard reacting to the weapon in the video. Davis told officers that this put him in fear of bodily injury. The police identified Lucas via the footage and discovered he was currently the respondent to an order of protection that prohibited him from possessing a firearm. Arrest warrants were then issued for his arrest on August 1st.

A few days later, on August 9th, detectives observed an Infiniti Q50, Lucas’ vehicle, parked outside a Market Square Court residence. Then, they noticed a white male, later identified as Lucas, walking to the Q50 and entering the driver’s side. Officers then attempted to speak with him before he sped away from them. Detectives utilized air assets and followed the Q50 until Lucas stopped the vehicle. He then started fleeing on foot while carrying a duffle bag. Responding units set a perimeter and requested K9 units to the area. When K9 units arrived, they located Lucas hiding in a nearby storage shed, where officers detained him. During a subsequent vehicle search, detectives discovered $800 in cash, 16 Oxycodone pills, and a baggie of marijuana. Then, officers searched Lucas’s flight path and found the duffle bag, which contained multiple bags of marijuana, a digital scale, and loose plastic baggies. The total amount of marijuana was 173.5 grams. Lucas was then taken into custody for two counts of felony possession, evading arrest with a motor vehicle, evading arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm with an order of protection, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on August 11th.
