42-year-old Richard Goff and Leslie Nicole Overstreet robbed Jesus Espinoza-Salas at America’s Best Value Inn on Rivergate Parkway late August 21st. When officers arrived, they spoke with Espinoza-Salas, who stated via translator that Overstreet and Goff came to his room. He went into detail, saying that Goff pressed a cold metal object that he believed was a knife into his side while Overstreet ran through his wallet and took cash from it. Espinoza-Salas added that they also took his phone, and he was placed in fear of bodily harm. He said that Overstreet and Goff then left and returned to their room. The police went to the hotel room and spoke with Goff. He said that he had only gone to Espinoza-Salas’s room after Espinoza-Salas solicited Overstreet for sex. Goff added that he had no knowledge of anything being taken and that there was no physical altercation. Then, Overstreet told the police, under Miranda, that she did not know about the incident taking place. However, after she and Goff consented to a room search, officers discovered Espinoza-Salas’ phone and $136 in Overstreet’s wallet. Officers noted that this was consistent with Espinoza-Salas’ story. Officers notified Overstreet that they had located Espinoza-Salas’s phone and money. Overstreet then changed her story multiple times. Overstreet eventually advised officers that Goff had become upset about her going to Espinoza-Salas’s room and entered it agitatedly. Overstreet added that Goff grabbed something off the table that may have been a phone and admitted to taking the cash from the table before leaving. Goff was taken into custody for robbery on August 22nd.

Bradford Parker assaults fiancé, douses puppy in cold water during altercation, tells her “I hate you so much!”

38-year-old Bradford Parker was involved in a domestic altercation with his fiancé, Charlotte Bennis, while at their Shurgard Way residence on August 21st. When officers arrived, they made contact with Bennis, who appeared distraught and had red eyes from crying. She informed officers that she came home from work earlier to care for their dogs. Bennis explained that as she entered their home, Parker began taking pictures of her, saying, “I’m going to get you fired from your job.” Bennis informed Parker that she was allowed to take lunch breaks before giving the dogs a bath. Parker entered the bathroom and told her, “I hate you so much.” After that, Parker aggressively pushed her on the head and told her to leave the apartment, saying she was not welcome. Bennis mentioned that one of the puppies peed on the floor when he did this. In response to this, Parker threw cold water on the puppy. Bennis then left the scene to call the police. Bennis added that Parker had changed the locks to the apartment and would not let her in. Due to the statements made, Parker was deemed the primary aggressor, and he was taken into custody for domestic assault.

33-year-old Lydia Williams was caught trespassing at someone’s Herman Street residence on August 6th. When officers arrived and spoke with the homeowner, he informed them that someone was inside his house. The homeowner added that no one should be there. As the officers proceeded into the residence, they encountered an individual inside. This person revealed that Williams was also present and that they had been residing in the house. While looking for Williams, officers found her in the backyard and detained her. Officers cited her for the violation that day. Williams was booked on the citation of aggravated criminal trespassing on August 19th.

Nickolas Rodman booked after stealing clothing items from JCPenney

38-year-old Nickolas Rodman was seen shoplifting at a JCPenney on Rivergate Parkway on July 20th. When officers arrived, they spoke with loss prevention at JCPenney. Loss prevention stated that they observed Rodman grab numerous clothing items and roll them up. They claimed that after Rodman did this, he exited the store without paying for any items. Rodman was then cited for the incident that day. Rodman was later booked on the citation for theft on August 19th.

Payton Allen steals man’s Taurus handgun while helping him work on his car

25-year-old Payton Allen was caught stealing a Taurus G3C 9mm handgun from Damion Jackson on July 7th. When Jackson made contact with law enforcement, he stated that Allen was at his residence helping with the work he was doing on his car. Jackson said that he briefly left to go get food. Jackson explained that while he was gone, Allen sent him a text stating that he had to leave for a family emergency. Once Jackson returned, he discovered the bag containing his handgun, which he had left outside, was missing. Jackson later located the bag inside his car but found that his firearm was missing. Footage from Jackson’s Ring camera displayed Allen walking over to where the bag was and moving it out of the camera’s view. Officers viewed the footage and determined that Allen stole Jackson’s firearm. Allen was then taken into custody and charged with theft of a firearm on August 22nd.

Christopher Hatfield indicted by Grand Jury for multiple counts of rape

A Davidson County Grand Jury had indicted 34-year-old Christopher Hatfield for one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, one count of aggravated sexual battery, one count of child rape, and two counts of statutory rape as an authority figure that occurred between the dates of July 15th, 2013, and November 14th, 2023. The indictment alleges that Hatfield engaged in multiple acts of sexual abuse with a child at least thirteen times. It says that he unlawfully and knowingly engaged in sexual contact with the child. In some instances, Hatfield had a position of trust or disciplinary power over the child and used this possession to have intercourse with the child. Hatfield was taken into custody on August 21st, 2024. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $200,000.

Jaila Root caught with 14 grams of marijuana in TSU campus apartment during room check

19-year-old Jailia Root was caught with marijuana in her TSU campus apartment on August 10th. The housing director contacted TSU police, stating he found a small amount of marijuana. The housing director explained that while he was doing room checks, he found 14 grams of marijuana. Shortly after, Root arrived and admitted that marijuana was hers. TSU police cited her for the violation that day. Root was later booked on the citation of simple possession on August 19th.

19-year-old Raina Williams was speeding in her black Toyota Camry down Briley Parkway South late August 21st. Officers noticed the Camry and followed it, during which they paced it going 90 mph in a 55-mph zone and initiated a traffic stop. Upon approaching the Toyota, they identified Williams behind the wheel. The police intended to issue her a citation. However, they were informed that Williams was about to move to New York for school, so they performed a custodial arrest instead. Williams was taken into custody for reckless driving on August 22nd.

Ladacia Allen punches coworker during argument over work truck charging ports

29-year-old Ladacia Allen was caught after assaulting her coworker, Faith Jacks, while in their work truck on July 26th. That day, Jacks spoke to officers and informed them that she and Allen began arguing while in their work truck. However, the argument escalated to them pushing each other’s hands from the car’s charging ports. Jacks informed officers that after this, she called Allen a “B*tch.” In response to this, Allen swung and punched her in the face. Officers then spoke with Allen, who confirmed they were arguing over the charge ports. Allen also admitted that when Jacks called her a “B*tch,” she smacked her in the face. Allen was issued a citation for the incident that day. Allen was later booked on the citation for assault on August 19th.
