44-year-old Robert Lange was seen trying to stab security officers with a drill bit at the Fifth Third Center on July 31st. When officers arrived, security had Lange detained. Security officers Smith and Massiah informed officers that when they had asked Lange to leave multiple times. They stated when they approached him, he became aggressive and took a fighting stance.
While in the stance, Lange attempted to stab both of them with a drill bit. Despite this, security was able to assist each other and take possession of the drill bit. Lange was then taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.
Robert B. Lange was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on July 31st, charged with criminal trespass and two counts of aggravated assault. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $11,000.
