40-year-old Kyle Pingitore endangered his three-month-old grandchild on September 1st. Summit Hospital and Centennial Pediatrics became aware of Christopher Mummert’s child, who had been unconscious, not breathing, and blue. After several revival attempts, the toddler was resuscitated and transferred to Centennial Pediatrics, where revival interventions were continued. The three-month-old’s grandfather and temporary custodian, Kyle Pingitore, was on the scene with his daughter and the child’s biological mother, Alainah Pingitore. They were advised by medics that the cause of the baby’s injuries was from testing positive for having Fentanyl in their system. Since Alainah had a history of drug abuse and the baby had been born testing positive for Fentanyl, Kyle had been given custody at the time of birth.

When asked about the situation, Kyle stated that he and the baby had gone to Christopher and Alainah’s house for a BBQ. He said this was to allow them to have supervised visitation with their child. Kyle added that by the night’s end, the toddler had fallen asleep on Christopher’s chest. He said that he did not want to wake the baby since it was late. Kyle told officers he knew he had made a bad decision allowing the three-month-old to stay there, which went against his DCS restrictions. Alainah told DCS that at 6 a.m., she noticed her baby was having trouble breathing and “was not acting normally.” On the way to the hospital, the toddler became unconscious and turned blue. Christoper had also called Kyle and informed him of the incident. Alainah added that there may have been fentanyl residue on her clothing, and that might be how their baby got sick. Pingitore was taken into custody for aggravated child endangerment on September 9th.

Kyle Thomas Pingitore was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on September 9th, charged with child endangerment. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $100,000.
