Erika Garcia flees & leaves multiple fake numbers after crashing into woman’s Jeep Cherokee

25-year-old Erika Garcia was caught after leaving the scene of an accident at Mercy Lounge on Cannery Row on July 26th. When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with Kirsten Jose, the victim. She explained that her parked Jeep Cherokee was hit and damaged in the parking lot. Jose found a note on her windshield with the message “Call me” and a phone number. However, when she tried to call, the number appeared to be out of service.

Security at the location provided officers with footage of the incident. The video showed Garcia driving her vehicle, speaking with individuals, and loading equipment into her car the day before. Garcia then got back into her vehicle, made a right turn, and struck Jose’s vehicle while driving down a lane of parking spots before leaving the scene.

Security tried to stop Garcia after witnessing the incident. However, she drove away after handing them a card with a different phone number. Jose also tried calling this number but learned it was fake. Officers obtained Garcia’s vehicle information from security via her license plate. Officers found that Garcia’s personal details and ID photo lined up with her appearance in the security footage. Jose’s Jeep Cherokee had damage assessed to be worth at least $1,500. A warrant was issued for Garcia’s arrest that day. Garcia was later taken into custody for leaving the scene of an accident on August 7th.

Nasyia Vincent punches walls, scratches her father during altercation

20-year-old Nasyia Vincent was involved in a domestic altercation with her father, John Vincent, at a Took Drive home on August 1st. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with John, who stated that Nasyia, his daughter, entered his room and began acting crazy. John claims that Nasyia started throwing things around and punching the walls in his room. After this, John claims to have attempted to get Nasyia to leave, but during this, she scratched his arm, leaving a few marks on his forearm. John called the officers because he was worried about her well-being. However, John noted that he was not afraid for his safety. John also informed officers that Nasyia has a lot of trauma and does not know how to handle it. Nasyia was not on the scene at the time of the crime, and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Nasyia was later found and taken into custody for domestic assault on August 7th.

Jameson Jones caught with multiple marijuana vape pens after running red light on Broadway

19-year-old Jameson Jones was caught with marijuana after running a red light at the intersection of Broadway and 16th Avenue on July 11th. Officers observed the vehicle running the red light at the intersection and initiated a traffic stop. Upon making contact and speaking with Jones, officers noticed the strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When asked, Jones admitted to officers that the last time he smoked marijuana was “Two days ago.” Officers then proceeded to search the vehicle, where they found five marijuana vape pens and a scale. Jameson also confirmed to officers that the pens were marijuana and not CBD. Jones also admitted that he used the scale to weigh his marijuana. Jones was then cited for the incident that day. Jones was later booked on the citation for possession of an illicit substance on August 5th.

Mianga Mseleca resists arrest after refusing to stop walking in the middle of I-24 East

68-year-old Mianga Mseleca was seen walking in the middle of the roadway on I-24 East around mile marker 55 on August 4th. When the officers arrived, they noticed Mseleca standing in the middle of the active interstate. Despite several attempts by the officers to move him over to the right shoulder, he refused to cooperate. Officers then tried to move Mseleca inside their police vehicle to get him off the interstate. However, Mseleca again refused and continued to stand in the middle of I-24.

When officers attempted to handcuff Mseleca, he resisted and began pulling away before they apprehended him. Officers also noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from Mseleca. As a result, Mseleca was eventually taken into custody for public intoxication, resisting arrest, and refusal to disperse on August 5th.

Michael Criss assaults roommate during argument over her moving out

30-year-old Michael Criss was involved in a domestic altercation with his roommate Georgia Gauker at an Andrew Jackson Way residence on August 4th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Gauker, who said she argued with Criss over a lost phone and future living arrangements. Gauker informed officers that the argument occurred inside the residence. She added that Criss became upset throughout the argument and got into her face. Gauker also claimed that Criss shoved her, which caused her to fall. Officers noticed that Gauker had a visible injury to her elbows, armpits, and ankles. Gauker claimed the injuries were all a result of being shoved by Criss. Officers then spoke with Criss, who said he was arguing with Gauker about moving to a different apartment when her lease expired. However, Criss says that no physical altercation occurred and that Gauker was looking for a phone inside the apartment for an extended period of time. Criss admitted to officers that he did get upset and yell at Gauker. Due to the statements made and injuries sustained by Gauker, Criss was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Nancy Nikang hits boyfriend with bouquet of flowers, punches him in face during argument

19-year-old Nancy Nikang was involved in a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Brandon Spencer, at her Elm Pike apartment on August 3rd. When officers arrived, they spoke with Spencer, who claimed he was at his girlfriend’s house when an argument started regarding Nikang taking his car key. Spencer informed officers that during the argument, Nikang walked up to him and punched him in the left side of his face. Spencer noted that this left a small mark near his eye. After this, he claims that he pushed Nikang away in self-defense before leaving the residence. Officers also noticed three red lines on his neck, which Spencer claims happened during the argument. He says he does not know how the redness appeared, but he is sure it happened during the dispute. Officers then spoke with Nikang, who admitted to officers that she hit him first with a bouquet of flowers. Due to the statements made, Nikang was deemed the primary aggressor, and she was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Nikhil Badge strangles wife in front of children after son comes home with heat rash

34-year-old Nikhil Badge was caught strangling his wife, Ankana Das, on August 4th. On that day, Das reported that she had taken her two children to the park, and one had a heat rash on his face upon returning home. Upon Das entering the home, Badge began yelling at Das, asking what she did to their son. Das then informed Badge that it was a heat rash; however, he did not listen and told Das that she was no longer allowed to take their children out of the house alone. After this, Das went to her room, and when she returned to the kitchen, Badge and his mother were there. Badge’s mother then asked Das, “Did you learn your lesson?” before Badge allegedly Grabbed Das by the throat and began strangling her with his right hand. Das claimed that he held onto her throat for five minutes and was calling her vulgar names throughout the whole ordeal. Badge eventually let Das go and told her he was going to call the police. Das did not lose consciousness but said she felt like she was going to pass out and described having difficulty breathing, ringing ears, and difficulty swallowing afterward.

Their two children were present during the strangling. When Das brought this to his attention, Badge allegedly stated, “Let them watch.” Badge also called officers and noted that Das heard him and his mother talking and thought it was about her. Badge claims that Das lunged at his mother, and he got in the middle of them to stop her. Badge did not mention any strangulation; however, both of his parents were present. The parents, however, did not speak English, and Badge was translating for them. Through translation, an assault was not mentioned. Badge told officers that he believed the victim was calling the police to make false reports to get his parents kicked out of the house. Officers noted that neither Das nor Badge had visible injuries. Officers determined that Badge was deemed the primary aggressor, and he was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

Innocent Mabonza drunkenly beats & strangles his wife, tells police he “was stronger than her”

44-year-old Innocent Mabonza was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, Ndemesa Zawadi, at an Old Franklin Road Apartment on August 3rd. When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed Zawadi standing outside with a ripped shirt that had blood on it. They also noticed that Zawadi had a cut on her nose and swelling on the right side of her face. Zawadi reported that her husband, Mabonza, had beat her up and put his hands around her neck. Zawadi claimed that when she came home from work, she found Mabonza drinking alcohol. Zawadi says that the incident occurred in the morning, and she walked away while he spoke with her. After this, Zawadi says that Mabonza followed her to her bedroom, outside, and back into the residence. Mabonza and Zawadi then began arguing, and when they went back into the residence, he started beating her, slapping her, and punching her in the face and neck area.

Officers then spoke to Mabonza, who told them he had injuries as well, which included a small cut to his hand, a burn on his knee, and a cut on his left side. Mabonza informed officers that he and Zawadi began arguing and pushing each other but admitted that he “was stronger than her” and got angry “because he is a man.” However, Zawadi told officers that these injuries were secondary as they came from her trying to get away from him.  Zawadi also made statements such as  “he beat me,” “he was punching me in the face and neck, and I am hurting,” and ” he punched me, and my tongue is swollen.” When asked where the blood on her shirt came from, Zawadi told officers it was from that day and that Mabonza was hurting her. Zawadi also says that Mabonza had grabbed her by her braided hair with one hand and put his other hand around her neck. She added that she was unable to breathe at the time he began strangling her. Zawadi says the cut on Mabonza was due to her trying to get away from him. Zawadi’s injuries consisted of a cut under her nose, swelling to the right of her face, cuts to the inside of her mouth and lips, and cuts to the outside of her mouth. Zawadi’s son, who was on the scene, reported that he did not see anything other than her lying on the floor after they were arguing. Mabonza was then deemed the primary aggressor, and he was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

David Young drives on wrong side of road while watching YouTube on his phone at CMA Fest

31-year-old David Young was seen driving recklessly while near the CMA Fest at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Broadway on June 9th. That day, officers observed Young driving the wrong way on a one-way street despite two clear signs indicating the correct direction. Young ignored the signs and continued driving the wrong way. When other vehicles tried to drive the right way, he made a U-turn. The officers stopped Young and asked him why he was driving incorrectly. While answering, they noticed that Young was watching YouTube on his phone, which was in his lap. The officers took his license and instructed Young to go down 4th Avenue, turn right on Broadway, and park. After the officers left to start writing the ticket, they found that Young was not at the location they instructed him to go to. Officers learned that Young had fled the scene and did not return. A warrant was later issued for his arrest, and Young was taken into custody for reckless driving on August 4th.

Akur Deng breaks ex-boyfriend’s windshield because he was texting other girls

22-year-old Akur Deng was involved in a domestic altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Austin Patrick, on August 4th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Patrick, who stated that he and Deng had been dating for a year but recently broke up a week ago. Patrick said that they had decided to go out that night. Patrick stated that as he pulled into his apartment complex with Deng, she had gotten ahold of his phone. Patrick informed officers that she saw that he had been texting other women since their breakup, which angered her. Deng allegedly then screamed at Patrick and punched him in the face, causing an injury to his eye that officers observed. Patrick also told officers that she then began punching his windshield from inside the car, which cracked it. Patrick then claimed he exited the vehicle and was followed by Deng, who continued to push and scream at him until the security of the apartment complex arrived and separated them. Patrick stated that Deng was the only one getting physical and that he had never had physical contact with Deng.

Officers then spoke with Deng, who initially claimed that nothing physical happened. However, when she overheard Patrick explaining how she cracked the windshield, she smirked and said, “Yeah, I did. I mean, he was texting other girls.” After getting Deng’s information, she was asked how she cracked his windshield. She then told officers that she had not cracked his windshield at all. When asked why she had admitted to cracking the windshield earlier, Deng did not have an answer. After several minutes, Deng approached another officer and told them how she had been strangled.

She claimed that as Patrick drove her back from the restaurant, they began arguing about the texts. Deng added that Patrick pulled into a nearby Waffle House parking lot and began to strangle her with both hands for about 10 seconds. Deng says he stopped because she asked him to. She stated he drove her back to the apartment complex, where they continued arguing. Deng said this is where she accidentally cracked his windshield. Deng told officers that she never assaulted Patrick and did not mean to cause damage to the windshield. Officers then spoke with the security guard who broke up their fight. He added that he only saw the couple arguing and Deng pushing Patrick before he separated them. Due to the injuries and Deng’s story changing, Deng was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for vandalism and domestic assault.
