DUI: Angel Alberto caught with 119 grams of marijuana at sobriety checkpoint

25-year-old Angel Alberto was stopped in a white Nissan Maxima at a sobriety checkpoint on August 30th. State troopers informed Alberto that they were conducting a sobriety checkpoint. When they did this, he confessed that he had two beers four hours before they stopped him. Upon examining Alberto, troopers confirmed that they noticed signs of intoxication, so they prompted him to perform sobriety tests. Alberto consented to the sobriety tests but showed several indicators of impairment, so he was taken into custody. During an arrest search of Alberto’s car, troopers located a large mason jar containing two bags of marijuana. The marijuana in the plastic bags totaled 119 grams. Alberto was later transported to booking and charged with driving under the influence and possession of a Schedule Six drug on August 31st.
