Henry Bright attempts to perform “wrestling takedown” on man sparking multi-person brawl

22-year-old Henry Bright was involved in a brawl in the 8th Avenue South and Lea Avenue area on June 30th. When officers arrived and separated the group, Bright continued to be aggressive while the other members of the fight calmed down. A member of the brawl, Brandon Jones, stated that Bright started the altercation by starting an argument with him and the other individuals while they were in the car with each other. Brandon told officers that he got out of the vehicle to speak with Bright, but while doing so, Bright attempted to perform a “wrestling takedown” on him. As officers were taking Bright into custody, they observed that he exuded a strong odor of alcohol. Once questioned about the odor, Bright confessed that he had been drinking throughout the night. After Bright was taken into custody, he admitted that he did utilize a wrestling move on Jones but stated that it was in self-defense. Jones said that he wished to prosecute, so Bright was transported to booking and charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and assault.
