Destiny Frierson speeds down Trinity Lane at 70 mph on suspended license with passengers hanging out windows

20-year-old Destiny Frierson was observed speeding near Trinity Lane on July 21st. When she approached a red light, two rear passengers were hanging outside the window, recording on their phones. When the light turned green, officers attempted to catch up with her. As officers did this, they paced her, going around 70 mph, and conducted a traffic stop. While Frierson was stopping, they noticed a lot of movement inside her vehicle, appearing as if someone had switched seats with the driver. Officers approached the car and noticed a 1-year-old child sitting in the backseat without a car seat or being buckled. Officers also noticed the child was sitting on the lap of another occupant. Then, the police asked Frierson if she had switched seats with anyone. Frierson looked in the backseat and said, “Ask them,” but no one responded. When asked for her driver’s license, she told police she did not have one nor has she ever had one. Further investigation revealed that her license was suspended. Frierson was then taken into custody for child neglect and driving with a suspended license.

William A. Southern arrested for threatening brother with knife during city-wide warrant round-up

46-year-old William Antonio Southern was arrested as part of a city-wide warrant round-up. Southern had a domestic altercation with his uncle, William Carl Southern, at his mother’s, Vickie Southern’s, house around 8:30 p.m. on February 27th. Vickie alerted the authorities, advising them that William Antonio and her grandson, Joe Shawn Thompson, had a verbal disagreement. When officers arrived, she further explained that William Antonio was being disorderly. Vickie explained that Thompson told her that William Antonio had put a knife against William Carl’s neck. Officers then spoke with William Carl, who stated while he and William Antonio were playing basketball, William Antonio pulled out a knife and held it to his neck. William Carl did not sustain any injuries in the incident. Since he left, officers obtained a warrant for William Antonio’s arrest.

Then, on March 25th, William Carl Southern called the police, telling them that he came outside while he was at another location and found William Antonio Southern sitting in his backseat. William Carl told William Antonio to leave, but he refused, so William Carl drove to Vickie Southern’s house. When they got there, William Carl went inside to get Vickie, during which William Antonio grabbed a brick and threw it multiple times at his vehicle. This caused the windshield to crack, leaving dents and scratches on the driver’s side door. Then, William Antonio punched William Carl in the face and ran into the woods behind the residence. A warrant was issued for William Antonio’s arrest. William Antonio Southern was taken into custody for aggravated assault, domestic assault, and vandalism on June 12th as part of a city-wide warrant round-up.

DUI: Realtor Latoria Marshall caught with 12 grams of marijuana

37-year-old Realtor Latoria Marshall was caught driving under the influence near Old Matthews Road on May 25th. Officers got behind her vehicle and observed her cross numerous lines, as well as being fully in the oncoming lane for 2-3 seconds. Proceeding this, officers initiated a traffic stop where they observed Marshall as the vehicle’s only occupant. Authorities noticed a Corona Extra beer can in the center console while speaking with Marshall. Officers then asked Marshall numerous times if she had consumed any alcohol, but initially, she would not provide an answer. When officers asked again, Marshall admitted that she had consumed one beer. Officers then asked if she would exit the vehicle to perform sobriety tests as they detected the smell of alcohol on her breath. Marshall agreed to perform the test but showed numerous indicators of intoxication. Marshall was detained for DUI, and as officers searched her vehicle, they found a bag of a green substance believed to be marijuana weighing 12.3 grams. Marshall was taken into custody for DUI and an open container of alcohol on May 26th.
