DUI: Caleb Cahours passes out in car after drinking several bottles of 99 Brand Peach Liquor

38-year-old Caleb Cahours passed out in his vehicle at the parking deck near the Batman AT&T Building around 3:20 a.m. on July 20th. Two individuals noticed this and flagged officers down, stating Cahours had his car door open and struck their car with it. They added that they tried waking him up several times but could not. When officers arrived, they found Cahours inside his vehicle with the engine on, his driver’s side door placed against another car, and keys in the ignition. Due to safety concerns, officers reached into his car and turned it off, during which they found several empty bottles of 99 Brand Peach Liquor in the driver’s door. After yelling numerous times, Cahours had woken up, appearing confused, reeked of alcohol, and was sweating profusely. Officers asked him to exit his vehicle and provide his driver’s credentials, which he refused. Cahours then started yelling at officers, so they detained him and prompted him with sobriety tests, but he refused to take them. After being informed of implied consent, Cahours declined to provide a chemical sample, denied that his car was on, and denied that he struck the other vehicles. During a subsequent vehicle search, police located six small bottles of liquor and an open container of Tito’s Vodka. Cahours was taken into custody for driving under the influence, failure to give information, an open-container violation, and an implied consent violation.
