DUI: Harrison Gilchrist crashes into multiple cars at Music City Motorsports after drinking Coors Beer

26-year-old Harrison Gilchrist had a single-vehicle accident at Music City Motorsports on Harding Pike in the early hours of March 17th. When officers arrived, the Harding Pike and Highway 70 South street sign had been knocked down. Gilchrist’s GMC Sierra had struck two cars at the dealership and was pressed against one of them with his steering wheel’s airbags deployed. Gilchrist was unresponsive, so officers alerted the medics, who carried him out on a stretcher. While on the stretcher, Gilchrist partially woke up, trying to resist medics and push them away. Medics had to administer a calming agent to get him to relax. During the officers’ investigation, they noticed he reeked of alcohol and had an empty 12-oz Coors beer bottle in his cup holder. Gilchrist was then transported to Vanderbilt Hospital for treatment. A witness, Tori Teal, said Gilchrist had been speeding while driving toward the median, hit the post, and accelerated into oncoming traffic before colliding with the dealership’s cars. Gilchrist was taken into custody for driving under the influence on July 20th.
