44-year-old Jamie Boyd had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Taneal Shanta Walden-Walker, at his The Hillson apartment on Harris Hills Lane in the afternoon hours of April 21st. When deputies arrived, they spoke with Walden-Walker, who stated that she was staying at Boyd’s apartment for the weekend. She noted that Boyd noticed a scratch on her back and believed she was cheating on him. Walden-Walker said he refused to talk with her on the way home from breakfast until she asked him why when they were in the apartment, which sparked an argument. Walden-Walker stated Boyd told her to get her stuff and get out. While collecting her belongings, Boyd pushed himself against her, trying to grab her items. Walden-Walker then defended herself, prompting Boyd to grab her by the shirt and push her, causing her to fall to the ground. Boyd then dragged her from the bedroom to the living room. Walden-Walker told officers that Boyd pinned her down while she was on her stomach and bent her arm behind her back. She stated Boyd pushed his forearm into her neck for about two minutes, which is when she told him, “Let me go. I can’t breathe.” Walden-Walker said that he pushed her out of his apartment, adding that she was having severe shoulder pain, stiffness, and injury to her throat. Walden-Walker was transported to the hospital and a warrant was issued for Boyd’s arrest. Boyd was later taken into custody for aggravated assault on May 19th.
