Athena Hiles scratches boyfriend several times after he became “rowdy” after concert

45-year-old Athena Hiles had a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Matthew Tepper, at her Brittany Park Drive residence on June 24th. When officers arrived, Tepper told them that he and Hiles had gone out to a concert earlier in the night, where they had been drinking. Then, he stated when they returned home, she had become verbally aggressive with him “for no reason” and grabbed his left arm, leaving visible scratches. After Hiles grabbed his arm, she tried to grab his neck but missed, leaving more scratches. When officers spoke with Hiles, she told them that after they returned home, Tepper was being “rowdy,” so she asked him to leave, but he refused. Hiles stated that she didn’t grab his left arm but that she grabbed his left shoulder and dug her nails into it. Hiles was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault. Tepper was arrested for vandalism.

Xavier Carter threatens officers after passing out drunk in Uber

22-year-old Xavier Carter was taken into custody for public intoxication on June 15th. Officers were called to the Murfreesboro Pike Mapco to assist EMS. Upon arrival, Medics told officers that Carter was found passed out in an Uber. Medics added that Carter had woken up swinging his arms and cussing at them. Then, after several attempts, officers woke him up, during which he initially refused to exit the Uber. Carter then became verbally aggressive with officers while stumbling and making nonsensical statements. Carter asked officers if he could leave, and after they told him no, he tried to re-enter the Uber. When officers asked if he wanted to go to the hospital, Carter told them no. Carter then began threatening officers as they detained him. Officers deemed Carter a danger to himself and took him into custody.

Terry Reed assaults girlfriend when she sees text messages from another woman

48-year-old Terry Brett Reed had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Wendelin Brown, at their Hickory Highlands apartment in the early hours of June 3rd. Brown spoke with responding officers, telling them that she and Reed had an altercation the night before over him getting texts from another woman. She said another argument sparked that day after he received another message, during which she walked outside to calm down. Brown stated she asked him if she could go through his phone, which he refused, so she disregarded him and grabbed his phone from the counter. Reed got up, grabbed her by her neck, and slammed her against the wall. Brown said after that, she pushed him to get away and accidentally scratched his face. He then released her and walked outside. Brown added that when she closed the door and locked it behind him, he started banging on it and ended up breaking it before grabbing her hair, hitting her in the back of her head, and leaving. Officers noticed Brown had visible injuries from the assault, so they obtained a warrant for Reed’s arrest, and he was taken into custody for domestic assault on June 8th.

Tieara Pinkerton threatens to kill sisters in their sleep

24-year-old Tieara Pinkerton had a domestic altercation with her two minor sisters, R.P. and A.P., at their Lutie Street residence around 10:38 p.m. on June 6th. When officers arrived, Tieara advised them that she and A.P. scuffled, and then she threatened to light the house on fire with hair spray and a lighter. R.P. told police that Tieara tried to fight her following a verbal dispute, which A.P. intervened, trying to break it up, and ended up fighting with Tieara. Then, R.P. said that Tieara threatened to kill them in their sleep before spraying her room with hairspray. A.P. told officers that she heard her sisters arguing, so she went to stop it, but Tieara smacked her in the face multiple times, sparking a fight. Tieara Pinkerton was taken into custody for two counts of attempted aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Nathan Givant punches & strangles “intimate partner” during argument

27-year-old Nathan Givant had a domestic altercation with his roommate and “intimate partner,” Anthony Alberto Caceres, in the early hours of May 19th. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who stated she and Givant argued earlier in the night, which escalated when she slightly pushed him. Then, he shoved her, balled up his fists, and hit her in the back of the head, swinging his arms wildly, leaving scratch marks on her arms. She said she pushed him back, and he pinned her against the wall and put his arm against her neck, hindering her breathing, adding that she did not fight back. The victim stated after she walked outside, Givant slammed the door behind her, so she kicked out the windows to his residence and called the police before leaving. Givant was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

DUI: Marvy Akladious crashes car after smoking weed pen, tells police she “could not stop her car”

19-year-old Marvy Akladious was involved in a two-vehicle accident near Collins Park Drive and Bell Road in the early hours of April 28th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Akladious, who stated she “could not stop her car” after noticing the light turning red. Then, she advised officers she did not have a valid driver’s license or insurance. As they spoke to her, officers saw a weed pen on the driver’s side floorboard, and Akladious admitted to smoking marijuana around midnight. After being informed of implied consent, she agreed to provide a blood sample and was Mirandized. Akladious was transported to Nashville General Hospital and then was taken into custody for driving under the influence and having no valid driver’s license.

DUI: Nestor Corea refuses medical attention, says “they’re going to arrest me for DUI anyways!”

23-year-old Nestor Corea had a single-vehicle accident on Murfreesboro Pike on March 20th. Detectives responded to the crash and observed his vehicle upside down in the roadway. Corea extracted himself from the flipped over car. After this, first responders placed him onto a stretcher and transported him to the ambulance. In the ambulance, Corea appeared unconscious and reeked of alcohol. Corea then suddenly sat up, refusing to go to the hospital, stating, “I do not want to go to the hospital because they are going to arrest me for DUI anyways.” Then, he promptly exited the ambulance, which was when officers arrested him. Corea started getting emotional as they placed him in the patrol car. Officers then Mirandized Corea and informed him of implied consent, so he agreed to provide a chemical sample. While on the way to the hospital, he began raising his voice, asking for “a second chance” and to be let go. When they arrived, he refused medical treatment against medical professionals’ recommendations and was transported to booking. Corea then took a breath test but blew an insufficient sample. While officers waited for the test to commence, Corea started arguing with them, trying to get them to let him leave. Corea was taken into custody for driving under the influence on March 30th.

18-year-old Brayan Figueroa Hernandez flees after police find his Glock

18-year-old Brayan Jose Figueroa-Hernandez was involved in a car accident near Nolensville Pike and Haywood Lane in the early hours of March 17th. When officers arrived, they located several others who were inside an involved vehicle and were advised by NFD personnel that they found a hard case for a Glock firearm in the back seat. Officers noticed the gun case, so they searched Hernandez and the others, during which officers felt what they believed was a magazine for a gun on Hernandez. Hernandez then tried to flee from officers but was detained following a brief pursuit. Hernandez was transported to the General Hospital for the injuries he sustained. Then, Hernandez was taken into custody for evading arrest and resisting arrest.

DUI: Davante Payne insists he did not drink before driving, blows 0.187% BAC

27-year-old Davante Payne had a car accident at the Bell Road and Blue Hole Road intersection on December 22nd. Payne advised officers that he only remembers driving on Bell Road but not hitting another car. He said he was coming from a company party at a bar and had not drunk anything. They smelled alcohol on his breath, and Payne consented to sobriety tests. Payne then performed poorly and was Mirandized. Under Miranda, Payne continued to insist that he did not drink anything. Officers read Payne implied consent and he consented to a breath test which resulted in 0.187% BAC. Davante Payne was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
