Richard Fletcher caught with 4 grams of marijuana at BNA pickup area

21-year-old Richard Bernard Fletcher III illegally parked his black Nissan Maxima and did not move from the Departures Level Curbside at Nashville International Airport around 10:15 a.m. on May 13th. The parking spot had multiple visible “no parking” and “no waiting” signs. When officers arrived, they noticed the Nissan with a dark-tinted windshield that they could not see through and approached it. They spoke with Fletcher, who rolled his windows down and reeked of marijuana as he told them he was waiting for his friend. He then refused to provide them with his driver’s credentials or move from the spot.

Officers ordered him to exit his vehicle several times before he complied. During a subsequent search, they found a small bag with 4 grams of marijuana “shake.” While officers tried to detain him, he became resistive, not placing his hands behind his back. Fletcher was taken into custody for failure to comply with a traffic order, resisting arrest, simple possession, and a tinted window violation.
